Prodigal Youth Foundation – Housing Support Policy

Purpose

To support the well-being and sustainability of individuals who serve at nonprofits assisting at-risk youth, Prodigal Youth Foundation may provide financial support for housing costs as part of its charitable mission.

Scope

This policy applies to:

• Volunteers
• Staff
• Founders
• Directors actively engaged in nonprofit work that aligns with Prodigal Youth Foundation’s mission

Guidelines

• Housing support may include rent, utilities, or temporary housing assistance.
• All assistance must be approved in advance by the board of directors.
• If a board member or their family is a potential recipient, that member must abstain from voting.
• The support must be reasonable, necessary, and directly tied to the recipient’s ability to serve the mission of Prodigal Youth Foundation.
• Documentation of the need and use of funds must be maintained.
